THE RESIDENCE
The Residence of the President of the Republic of Poland in Wisła – erected in the years 1928-1931 on the spot of a burnt in December 1927 wooden hunting castle of the Habsburg family; designed by ProfessorAdolf Szyszko-Bohusz with the cooperation of Andrzej Pronaszka and Włodzimierz Padlewski.The Residence was a gift of Silesian Voivodeship to President Ignacy Mościcki.President Ignacy Mościcki for the first time visited the Castle in Wisła on January 21, 1931.Since then he visited the Castle regularly.Nowadays, President Bronisław Komorowski invites to the Residence the heads of other states, representatives of the world of culture, sport and local communities.
The Residence, protected as the National Heritage Complex has exquisite architecture as well as unique and original furnishings.
